Our Commitment to Nonviolence

Like the national organization, Indivisible, Activist Evenings in Brookline is committed to non-violence as a guiding principle in everything we do, rejecting political violence and intimidation, regardless of source or target.  History has shown that enduring transformation is founded on trust, unity, and self-control, even—and especially—when others seek to undermine those values.  We stand firmly in the belief that together we can realize Gandhi’s vision of ‘being the change’ we wish to see, in the pursuit of a more-perfect, just, and democratic and peaceful nation.

Nonviolence is the answer
to the crucial political and moral questions of our time

—Martin Luther King, Jr.
